Public Invited to Community Workshop on Irvine’s future

Irvine residents are encouraged to attend a free workshop and participate in the discussion about what’s ahead for Irvine. “Irvine 2035 – Our Future” is the ongoing General Plan update that will help shape the City for the next 20 years.

The free forum will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Lakeview Senior Center, 20 Lake Road in Irvine. No RSVP is needed.

Irvine Valley College and Orange County Great Park present a community dance installation, ON DISPLAY: Orange County, the first Southern California collaborate of the world-wide project by Heidi Latsky Dance exploring movement and space. This improvisational living gallery focuses on the themes of inclusion and diversity. The installation will be recorded and broadcast on the global webpage to be shown December 2 at the United Nations.

Irvine Child Care Committee Seeks New Members

The City of Irvine is accepting applications for two volunteer positions on the Irvine Child Care Committee. The Committee comprises five City Council appointees, two community child care providers, two parents/guardians, three higher-education liaison appointees and two community representatives. The two vacancies are for parent/guardian members.

Irvine Police Department to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint

Irvine, Calif. – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will conduct a sobriety checkpoint as part of the Department’s continued commitment to reducing injury and deaths caused by impaired drivers. The checkpoint will be conducted, Thursday, September 15, 2016, from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. in the area of Alton Parkway and Irvine Center Drive.
