Summer in the City returns June through August, bringing City of Irvine parks to life with free concerts, outdoor movies, and community celebrations. 

This annual series invites residents and visitors to experience the energy of live bands at summer concerts, settle in for crowd-favorite films under the stars at Movies on the Lawn, and enjoy the sweeping sound of Symphony in the Cities. New this year, the City will host a 55th Anniversary Homecoming Dance Saturday, August 8, at the Great Park. Celebrate this milestone anniversary with a homecoming-themed dance party that brings generations together on the dance floor.

Enjoy summer nights under the stars with family-favorite films shown on a large outdoor screen. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and settle in with low-back chairs, blankets, and picnic dinners, or explore a variety of local food truck offerings on-site. Movies begin after sunset and are subject to weather conditions.

Summer Concerts
Mike Ward Community Park — Woodbridge | Concerts begin at 5:30 p.m. 

Experience live music in the park as Summer Concerts bring an eclectic mix of sounds and styles, from laid-back island-inspired tunes to iconic rock classics and high-energy hits. Guests can relax on the lawn with their own snacks or enjoy offerings from a rotating selection of gourmet food trucks at each event.

55th Anniversary Homecoming Dance

Celebrate the City's 55th anniversary with a school-themed dance party that brings the City’s eras to life. Guests can enjoy food and drinks, start the evening with a lively happy hour, and then hit the dance floor to celebrate Irvine’s milestone anniversary. 

Symphony in the Cities

A community-favorite tradition, Symphony in the Cities brings the full sound of the Pacific Symphony to the heart of Irvine for an unforgettable evening. Guests are invited to arrive early and enjoy family-friendly pre-concert activities before the performance begins. 

All Summer in the City events are free –– no tickets or pre-registration required. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests should bring low-back chairs and blankets; layered clothing is recommended. 

Hicks Canyon Community Park is located at 3864 Viewpark Ave. Mike Ward Community Park — Woodbridge is located at 20 Lake Road. The Great Park is located at 8000 Great Park Blvd.
