The City of Irvine is preparing to submit an application for California's Prohousing Designation through the California Department of Housing and Community Development.
This designation is awarded to cities that are actively creating opportunities for new housing, streamlining approvals, and supporting policies and programs that make it easier to build homes for the community.
Earning this designation would strengthen the City's eligibility for competitive state grants that support affordable housing, infrastructure, and community development.
The public review period runs July 23–September 22, during which community members can review the draft application and submit comments.
