The City of Irvine is developing a comprehensive Irvine Public Library Master Plan and inviting community members to share ideas, feedback, and priorities as the City plans for the next 20 years of library service.
The Master Plan will establish a long-range framework for the Irvine Public Library and guide decisions about facilities, programs, staffing, operations, and technology. It will also examine how library services can continue to support learning, creativity, access to information, and community life as the City continues to grow and evolve.
Community members can share their input by completing the Library Master Plan Survey (Open in new window) through November 30. The City is also collecting feedback through pop-up surveys at Heritage Park, Katie Wheeler, and University Park libraries.
The Library Master Plan is expected to be completed by December 2027. The City awarded a professional services agreement to Group 4 Architecture to lead the project. With experience planning hundreds of libraries of varying sizes across the country, Group 4 Architecture brings expertise in creating forward-looking, flexible, and actionable master plans that help communities address current needs and prepare for the future.
The completed Library Master Plan will establish clear priorities and make strategic investments that support a strong, adaptable library system for years to come.
