The City of Irvine was awarded a Top Workplaces 2023 honor and ranked No. 14 on the list of Large Companies with 500 or more employees in the 16th annual The Orange County Register’s list of Top Workplaces awards and magazine publication.
This is the third consecutive year the City of Irvine has received this prestigious award, and the only Orange County municipality to receive this recognition.
The City of Irvine, for the second consecutive year, earned a perfect score of 100 – and nine bonus points – on the 2023 Municipal Equality Index (MEI), a Human Rights Campaign (HRC) rating system based on non-discrimination laws, the municipality as an employer, municipal services, law enforcement, and the City leadership's public position on equality.

Pack up your car with a brand-new, unwrapped toy suitable for children ages 12 and younger.
Drive to the designated drop-off spot at the Irvine Civic Center Parking Lot, right next to Deanna Manning Stadium at Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park.
Irvine residents can receive up to three pre-packaged bags (20 pounds per bag) of free compost December 9, 9 a.m.–noon, at the Great Park, Parking Lot 8.

- Exit Sand Canyon Avenue and turn left.
- Turn right on Great Park Boulevard.
- Lot 8 is located off of Skyhawk and Great Park Boulevard, next to Wild Rivers.

In partnership with the City of Irvine, WM, the City's waste hauler, is hosting a free paper-shredding event. Irvine residents can safely and securely dispose of up to five banker-size file boxes. The event is first-come, first-served and will end early if truck capacity is reached. Customers who wish to watch their paper be shredded will need to park in a designated area away from the truck and staff.

IRVINE, Calif. (November 30, 2023): The City of Irvine received a 2023 Digital Cities Survey award from the Center for Digital Government, a national research and advisory institute focused on technology policy and best practices in state and local government.
Irvine ranked eighth in the 250,000–499,999 population category for utilizing technology to strengthen cybersecurity, enhance transparency, digital privacy rights, and digital equity, and those finding innovative ways to support solutions for social challenges facing cities today.
The City of Irvine is pleased to announce a new Art at City Hall exhibition, Paul Gardner: A Retrospective, which celebrates the contributions and work of the late Paul Gardner, a visionary artist who had a profound impact in cultivating the local art scene in Orange County. Paul Gardner: A Retrospective opens Monday, December 11, and concludes Friday, March 22. An opening reception will be held Thursday, January 11, 4–6 p.m., at Irvine City Hall.
