The City of Irvine has been closely monitoring details related to the Tustin Hangar Fire. No health risks or impacts have been identified for Irvine at this time. The City deployed air quality and surface testing November 20-22 and December 14 and 22, in nine parks.

Irvine City Council Selects District Map for March 2024 Ballot

At its October 10 meeting, the Irvine City Council voted to put on the March 5, 2024, ballot, the formation of City Council districts, and the expansion of the City Council membership. The City Council also selected “Map 151” as the voting district map to be included with the ballot measure.

Irvine Police Department Awarded Traffic Safety Grants

Irvine, Calif. (November 6, 2023) – The Irvine Police Department has been awarded a $380,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS). Funding will provide special traffic enforcement, community outreach, and enhanced traffic safety programs in our community through September 30, 2024.

"We appreciate our partnership with OTS," Chief Michael Kent said. "Addressing traffic concerns and reducing collisions on our roadways will always be a top priority."

Established in 1984, the Irvine Child Care Project is a joint powers agreement between the Irvine Unified School District and the City of Irvine, overseen by the Irvine Child Care Project Board of Directors.

Irvine Police Department to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint

Irvine, Calif. (November 1, 2023) – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will conduct a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Driver’s License checkpoint as part of the Department’s continued commitment to reducing injuries and deaths caused by impaired drivers. The checkpoint will be conducted on Friday, November 10, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the area of Culver Drive and Main Street.
