The Irvine Animal Care Center invites the community to support its Foster Donation Drive, March 1–31. Support the center’s new puppies, kittens, and young rabbits, as well as recuperating animals, by donating supplies such as formula, blankets, and toys.
The City of Irvine, in partnership with the Irvine Prevention Coalition, is pleased to sponsor well-known adolescent psychologist Dr. Jerry Weichman to lead a community discussion about the impact positive social relationships have on a teenager’s mental health and physical well-being. The free community event at Irvine Civic Center is intended for parents of teenage children. It is presented with the support of Irvine Public Schools Foundation, Irvine Unified School District, and Parent Teacher Association.
Guests of all ages can enjoy skating at Great Park Ice during its daily public skating sessions on both NHL and Olympic sized ice surfaces. The facility has more than 1,000 pairs of professionally maintained ice hockey and figure skates available for rent, along with skate mates for new skaters or skaters who may need a little extra assistance on the rink.

On Saturday, February 23, the Irvine Unified School District will host a free electronics recycling event from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the District Office, located at 5050 Barranca Parkway in Irvine. The following items will be accepted:
• Computers
• Monitors
• Printers
• TVs
• VCRs
• Stereos
• Miscellaneous electronic equipment (anything with a plug and circuit board)
