City of Irvine Performs Routine Playground Cleaning

In an effort to ensure Irvine residents and visitors have a safe place to play and recreate, the City of Irvine has committed to a routine sanitization procedure on all City of Irvine playgrounds.

Staff sanitizes all playground equipment twice a week with an electrostatic sprayer, which uses a food-grade disinfectant. This disinfectant kills the coronavirus within 30 seconds, and 99% of all other bacteria within two minutes. In addition, hand-sanitizing stations are on-site at all playgrounds for use while utilizing the park equipment.
