National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will be participating in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Community members can drive up and drop off unwanted medications at two designated locations in the City of Irvine. This free service, which allows the public to anonymously discard prescription medications, addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. The participating sites are:

Irvine Police Department to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint

Irvine, Calif. (April 21, 2017) –  The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will conduct a sobriety checkpoint as part of the department’s continued commitment to reducing injuries and deaths caused by impaired drivers. The checkpoint will be conducted Saturday, April 22, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the area of Jamboree Road and Michelson Drive.

Northwood High Threat Linked to Hoaxes Nationwide

Irvine, Calif.  (April 14, 2017) -- A threat against Northwood High School received April 13 has been been determined by the Irvine Police Department to be a hoax linked to others received across the nation. All of the recent incidents were determined not credible. IPD detectives are cooperating with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in an attempt to identify suspects in this case.

The City of Irvine is proud to present two events in support of Imagination Celebration, a countywide celebration of arts and education. Kaleidoscope: A Family Art Experience will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Irvine Fine Arts Center in Heritage Community Park. Imagination Celebration: Drawing Cartoons with Thomas N. Perkins will take place from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 27, at the Orange County Great Park.
