After an extensive and competitive recruitment process, the City of Irvine has selected Julie Zeoli as its first Librarian, a significant step in establishing a new Library Services division.

Zeoli comes to Irvine from the City of Yorba Linda, where she was Assistant Library Director and played a key role in the development and opening of the award-winning Yorba Linda Public Library in 2020.

The City of Irvine is honored to announce the opening of the new Art at City Hall exhibition, Minna Chow: Traditional Chinese Brush Painting. The exhibition, opening Friday, December 13, features works by Irvine artist Minna Chow, who breathes life into the natural world through the ancient art of Chinese brush painting. A free opening reception with the artist will be held Tuesday, December 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Irvine City Hall.

The City of Irvine has achieved a perfect score of 100 — and 15 bonus points — on the 2024 Municipal Equality Index (MEI). It’s the third consecutive year the City has received a perfect score on the prestigious Human Rights Campaign (HRC) rating, which serves as a benchmark for assessing how extensively cities have embraced LGBTQ+ inclusivity within their laws, policies, and services.

The City of Irvine paths and bikeways will be cleaner and greener with the addition of its first electric street sweeper to its fleet.

A 2024 Dulevo D-Zero Plus sweeper known as "Evie" will keep Irvine clean and maintained, while preserving the environment.

Joining the City's fleet of four traditional gas-powered sweepers, Evie's all-electric-engine reaches top speeds of 20 mph, making it well-suited to maintain Irvine's trails, bikeways, and parking lots.
