The City of Irvine is supporting a volunteer-driven food collection event benefiting Families Forward. The community is invited to participate in an "Irvine Neighbors Helping Irvine Neighbors" drive-through food collection event on Saturday, October 17 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Drop-off collection will be held at:

Orange County Great Park (lot 2)
8000 Great Park Blvd. 
Irvine, CA 92618

Irvine Police Department to Participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will be participating in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Community members can drop off unwanted medications at two designated locations in the City of Irvine. This free service, which allows the public to anonymously discard prescription medications, addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. The participating sites are:

Irvine Police Department Arrest Man in Fatal Hit and Run Traffic Collision

 

The Irvine Police Department arrested 40-year-old Antonio Calixto Navarrete for a fatal hit and run traffic collision.  

 

Last night, at approximately 8:46 p.m., the Irvine Police Department (IPD) and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to the intersection of Main and Culver for a reported traffic collision involving a white Ford F-150 and a black Hyundai Elantra.

Irvine Police Department Searches for Critical Missing Adult

The Irvine Police Department is seeking the public's help in locating a missing person.

48-year-old Roger "Aaron" Vachani was last seen leaving his Irvine residence on the evening of September 16, 2020. Mr. Vachani left on foot at approximately 5:30 p.m. He was headed to a bus stop in the area of Yale and Walnut, and planned to ride the bus to Tustin or Santa Ana for a few hours. He has not been heard from since.

Due to forecasted storms, the Irvine Fine Arts Center has postponed its 38th annual Holiday Faire to Saturday, November 14.  The event has been modified to take place completely outdoors at the Orange County Great Park to better ensure a safe, socially distanced environment for the public.
