Irvine Police Department to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint

The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will conduct a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Driver’s License checkpoint as part of the Department’s continued commitment to reducing injuries and deaths caused by impaired drivers. The checkpoint will be conducted Friday, March 13, from 8 p.m. to 2

a.m. in the area of Culver Drive and Irvine Blvd.

University Drive Widening Update

As the University Drive Widening project continues, traffic modifications will be made during the week of March 9, weather permitting, to accommodate construction development. Modifications include reducing traffic to one lane in each direction, between Campus Drive and MacArthur Boulevard, for an approximate duration of three months. Traffic control signage will be placed in advance of the work zones. Construction is scheduled to be completed Summer 2020.
