National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is Oct. 22

Irvine, Calif. – The Irvine Police Department will be participating in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Community members can drive up and drop off unwanted medications at three designated locations in the City of Irvine. This free service, which allows the public to anonymously discard prescription medications, addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. The participating sites are:

Irvine Police Department, 1 Civic Center Plaza, in the parking lot.

Pair Arrested After Theft From Vehicle

Irvine, Calif. – The Irvine Police Department has apprehended two suspects after a resident witnessed them breaking into his car. Mohamad Jamal Elmasri, 19, of Irvine was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 11, following the theft on Fremont Street in Irvine. Omar Elnaggar, 22, of Irvine was detained a short time later.
