Groundbreaking Held for Irvine Animal Care Center Expansion and Renovation

The City of Irvine highlighted its commitment to providing a safe, clean, enriching, and caring environment for animals awaiting adoption during a groundbreaking ceremony Monday, August 5, for the Irvine Animal Care Center expansion and renovation project.

City Councilmembers, staff, and volunteers came together to celebrate the project, which will enhance the center's facilities, allowing it to better serve the community and the animals it cares for.

IRVINE, Calif. (August 5, 2024) – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) is investigating the homicide of  a 38-year-old Irvine resident after he was found deceased in his home.

Homicide Victim from 2009 Case Identified Through DNA

IRVINE, CA (July 25, 2024):  UPDATE – The Irvine Police Department was notified a previously unidentified victim of homicide in 2009 was a missing person from Reno, Nevada. Through DNA, the victim has been identified as 14-year-old Marcia Shirree Thomas.

In partnership with the City of Irvine, Waste Management is hosting a free paper-shredding event Saturday, October 26, 9–11 a.m. at Lakeview Senior Center.
Irvine residents can safely and securely dispose of up to five banker-size file boxes. The event is first-come, first-served and will end early if truck capacity is reached.
Customers who wish to watch their paper be shredded will need to park in a designated area away from the truck and staff.
