Irvine Public Library Strategic Plan

Together with our community, we're building the future of Irvine Public Library.

Our Mission

Irvine Public Library builds community through our commitment to exceptional collections, programs, spaces, and patron experience.

Who We Engaged

An online survey was conducted from September and November 16, 2025. The survey was offered in nine languages, and libraries provided access to the survey via public computers. The survey received 1,101 responses.

The library conducted three community listening sessions to obtain input on September 29, October 23, and November 12, 2025. Total attendance was about 50 individuals.

The library led stakeholder meetings and/or individual interviews with key community groups such as Friends of the Irvine Public Library groups, Irvine Public Library Teen Advisory Group, Irvine Public Library Korean Bookclub, Irvine Unified School District, University of California — Irvine, First5 Orange County, Orange County Association for the Education of Young Children, The Irvine Company, Families Forward, United Way of Orange County, and Orange County Community Foundation.

The engagement process included library staff and City staff from a range of divisions, including older adult services, arts, community services, and economic development.
