Irvine kids in K-8th grade, and their parents, are invited to attend a fun and informative Traffic STARS (Safety Training and Riding Skills) class where they will learn:

* Advice on traveling along safe routes

* Situational awareness

* Pedestrian safety

* Practical, emergency, and defensive riding

* Common courtesy skills

* Bicycle and equipment maintenance

 

City of Irvine Environmental Programs Receives Two Beacon Awards from the Institute of Local Government

The City of Irvine was selected for the 2021 Beacon Spotlight Award and Beacon Leadership & Innovation Award by the Institute of Local Government. The City received the 2021 Beacon Spotlight Silver Level Award for its 7% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions for City operations. In addition, Irvine was selected as a winner for the 2021 Beacon Leadership & Innovation Award for its Environmental Program’s innovation in clean transportation.

Donate Toys to Support Military Families during the Holiday Season

Join the City of Irvine and the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee in brightening the season for military families. The Annual Toy Drive benefits families of Irvine’s adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion. Help bring joy to these families during the holidays by donating a new, unwrapped gift suitable for infants or children ages 12 and younger.

Donations can be dropped off November 1–December 13 during the following hours at the locations below:
