Volunteers Support 2/11 Marines During COVID-19

The Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee has been busy supporting the City's adopted Marine battalion during the global pandemic as we mitigate the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Volunteers have raised funds and put together 110 Welcome Home bags for Marines who recently returned to Camp Pendleton. During stay-at-home orders for COVID-19, Marines are immediately put into a 14-day quarantine upon their return from deployment.

Families Forward Food & School Supply Collection Event

The City of Irvine is supporting a volunteer-driven food and school supply collection event benefiting Families Forward. The community is invited to participate in an "Irvine Neighbors Helping Irvine Neighbors" drive-through food collection event on Saturday, July 11 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The City of Irvine has released their 2020 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan for public review and comment. This Plan provides the City with access to grant funding opportunities from the Federal Emergency Management Agency intended to reduce vulnerabilities to future hazards and disasters.

City of Irvine to Reopen Fields and Sites for Day Camp and Outdoor Recreation

The City of Irvine, following evolving State and County guidance, will begin to reopen City athletic fields for modified use, and offer day camps in community centers. The modification follows approval from the County of Orange for the City to establish reopening dates and guidelines for athletic field use, picnic areas, and day camps.
