Irvine Animal Care Center 2021 Virtual 5K Supports Animals in Need

The Irvine Animal Care Center is inviting all runners, walkers, and animal-lovers to take part in its 2021 Virtual 5K throughout the month of April to support animals in need. The center’s Virtual 5K can be completed at any location you choose April 1–30, can be done at your own pace, and is timed yourself. In addition to supporting animals, participants can honor the City of Irvine's 50th anniversary while running or walking their 5K.

The City of Irvine has always been a leader in celebrating diversity and has continued this proactive approach through recent council initiatives. In early 2021, Mayor Farrah N. Khan and City Councilmembers unanimously adopted the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Resolution and launched a diversity campaign, We Are Irvine, confirming their commitment to the City’s values. As part of this effort, the Irvine Police Department has implemented a hate crime reporting portal.
