Great Park Construction Notice for July 2023

The City of Irvine is starting the tarmac removal process at the ARDA site to make way for the Veterans Memorial Park & Gardens project at the Great Park. Out of an abundance of caution to avoid disrupting students and staff at Cadence Park School, demolition work has been purposefully planned to occur when school is out of session. Residents can expect to experience noise and ground vibration while construction crews remove the 12-inch-thick concrete tarmac.

City of Irvine Continues Districting Process, Prioritizing Resident Engagement

As the City of Irvine continues to pursue its first City Council district formation process, the City is actively engaging residents to ensure their voices are heard in shaping the boundaries of the future City Council voting districts.

Irvine residents will have the opportunity at a special election in March 2024 to vote on whether to expand the City Council to six Councilmembers and shift to district elections. If approved, each voter would vote for one Councilmember to represent the district they live in and continue to vote for an at-large Mayor.
