Irvine, Calif. (April 24, 2023) – A 33-year-old man riding a scooter has died after being involved in a collision with a van.
Last night, around 10:35 p.m., the Irvine Police Department (IPD) responded to reports of a traffic collision at the intersection of Michelson Drive and Mac Arthur Boulevard. Our partners from the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to assist.
The City of Irvine is hosting two Memorial Day events to honor and remember the sacrifice of fallen American service members: the Northwood Memorial Candle Lighting Ceremony on Sunday, May 28, and the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park on Monday, May 29. To commemorate and pay tribute to those who have given their lives while defending the nation, the community is invited to these events in honor and recognition of all fallen service members.
The University of California, Irvine is partnering with the City of Irvine to host City of Irvine Day at Anteater Ballpark on May 6. Residents are invited to watch the UCI baseball team take on the University of Hawaii while celebrating the relationship between the City and the university. Irvine Mayor Farrah N. Khan will throw out the first pitch.
