A 76-year-old pedestrian has died after being involved in a collision with a truck.
Last night, at approximately 6:15 p.m., the Irvine Police Department (IPD) and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to a reported traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a white Chevrolet Silverado truck. The collision occurred on East Yale Loop just before the intersection of Witherspoon.
OCFA arrived at the location and determined the pedestrian had died of her injuries. Her identity is not being released at this time.
A 33-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle as he walked in lanes of traffic.
Last night, at approximately 9:06 p.m., the Irvine Police Department (IPD) received a call of a man walking in the roadway near the intersection of Von Karman Avenue and Michelson Drive. At 9:11 p.m., IPD received a second call that a man had been hit by a vehicle in the same area.
Update: Irvine, Calif. (November 4, 2022) – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) has learned 84-year-old Changyu Zhou was last seen at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022, in the area of Jeffrey and Walnut.
He is described as a Chinese, male, 5’2”, 130 pounds, with white hair, and brown eyes. When he left his residence he was wearing a black baseball cap (see above photo), green shirt, black vest (see above photo), blue jeans, and black Adidas shoes.
The Irvine Police (IPD) has arrested a suspect in a commercial robbery in Irvine. Fredemclave Ishan Benjaminanderson (AKA: Fredemclave Ishan Benjamin Anderson), 20, of Menifee was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon.
On October 17, 2022, a man walked into a jewelry store at the Irvine Spectrum. As he was looking at an expensive necklace, he suddenly ran out of the store with the item. Employees tried to stop him, but they were not successful. The man left the area in a gray Toyota Corolla.
UCI Health and the City of Irvine are partnering for a series of blood drives which will be held at Great Park. A blood supply crisis is posing a concerning risk to patient care both locally and nationally. To address the great need for blood donations in Orange County, a UCI Health Blood Drive will take place Thursday, November 10, from noon to 6 p.m. near the Great Park Visitors Center.
Appointments are suggested but not required, and walk-in's will be accepted.
