City Supports HomeAid Diaper Drive That Serves Over 1,000 Homeless Babies

The City of Irvine is proud to support HomeAid Orange County’s goal of collecting 1 million essential items for babies and toddlers through the organizations’ annual Diaper Drive. Now through June 9, members of the community are invited to participate by donating new, unopened packages of diapers, baby wipes, and baby food (no glass containers please) to support families with toddlers and babies experiencing homelessness.

Donations can be dropped off through June 9 during the following hours at the locations below:

The University of California, Irvine is partnering with the City of Irvine to host City of Irvine Day at Anteater Ballpark on May 20. Residents are invited to watch the UCI baseball team take on California State University, Bakersfield on a day celebrating the relationship between the City and the university. Irvine Mayor Farrah N. Khan will throw out the first pitch.

Green Ribbon Environmental Committee Seeks Youth to Fill Member-at-Large Positions

The City of Irvine is accepting applications to fill two student vacancies on the Green Ribbon Environmental Committee. The committee advises the City Council and makes recommendations on matters related to energy, recycling and waste management, mobility, open space, and water issues. 

Applicants must be Irvine students who are currently in middle school or high school and will serve one-year terms.

The City of Irvine announces the opening of its latest art exhibition at the Great Park Gallery: Phillip K. Smith III: Shared Light. The exhibition runs Sunday, May 29, to Sunday, August 28. An opening reception for the exhibition will be held Sunday, May 29, 1 to 3 p.m. The exhibition, opening, and parking are free and open to the public.
