This program helps Irvine residents who are interested in learning about new ways to support the City’s ambitious goal of carbon neutrality, and provides access to group pricing discounts for solar power and battery storage. Solarize Irvine is also working to advance equity and access to solar energy through a focus on getting low-income affordable housing development residents access to state subsidized clean energy resources.

The free event will take place Wednesday, May 4, at City Hall. The reception will begin at 5 p.m., and the formal program will start at 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber.

Visit Quail Hill Community Center Saturday, April 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and enjoy a guided hike, compost demo, and interactive activities offered in partnership with Irvine Ranch Conservancy. The free Earth Day event includes guided hikes at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.; registration required on-site, limited space available. At noon, enjoy a compost demonstration.

The Irvine Police Department in partnership with the Orange County Fire Authority will hold an Open House Saturday, April 30, at Irvine Civic Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place in the piazza and parking lot of the Irvine Civic Center located 1 Civic Center Plaza. Attendees will see police and fire vehicles, have plenty of opportunities to take photos, play games, have their faces painted, and receive special giveaways while supplies last. Food will be available for purchase.
