Irvine Police Department to Participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will be participating in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Community members can drop off unwanted medications at three designated locations in the City of Irvine. This free service, which allows the public to anonymously discard prescription medications, addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. The participating sites are:

On January 26, 2021 the Irvine City Council passed the resolution reaffirming Irvine's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within our community. As such, the City of Irvine is taking steps to ensure we embrace and celebrate diversity in all aspects of our community and foster an environment that is inclusive of all cultures, backgrounds, races, and ethnicities.

Purpose:

City of Irvine Ranks Second in the Top 25 Geographic Information System Programs in North America through the 2020 Geospatial Maturity Index Survey

The City of Irvine was ranked second by PSD Citywide in the top 25 most mature public sector Geographic Information System (GIS) programs in North America. The City is the first U.S. participant to earn a spot in the top three GIS programs in the history of the survey.

PSD Citywide empowers governments of all sizes with infrastructure asset management, budgeting, and GIS solutions through their web-based software. PSD created the Geospatial Maturity Index (GMI) to assist with GIS program development, capacity building, and innovation in public sector organizations.
