Plant the Future of Your Neighborhood

Want more shade outside your home? The City of Irvine’s Urban Forestry Program can help. Eligible residents can request a street tree for the parkway — the space between the curb and sidewalk — adjacent to their property.

A well-placed street tree does more than make your neighborhood look greener. Trees provide shade, improve air quality, help reduce urban heat, conserve energy, and create a healthier environment for everyone.

A Few Things to Know

Not every parkway is suitable for a street tree. Before a tree can be planted, City staff will evaluate the location for available space, utility clearances, and other site conditions.

The City will make every effort to accommodate requests, but all planting locations and final tree selections are subject to City review and approval.
